The tie-dyed dude listed a huge number of famous, or almost famous skateboarders who came from Encinitas when prompted by Maggie Houlihan.
Logic tells us that they all became world famous skateboarders from Encinitas even though Encinitas has never had a decent public skatepark.
Maybe the real lesson learned is that without a government taxpayer-funded nanny skatepark, creativity finds a way to thrive, while cities which have provided these facilities end up stifling greatness.

I do not believe it is responsible to omit all the street improvements necessary in the fiscal assessment. Nor is the landscape budget mentioned. If this special use park is payed for by we taxpayers, should we not be informed of all the costs. All that is mentioned of the street improvements is it will be dealt with later. Later?

I am not a skater, but after seeing the skate community in Encinitas, I was charmed and won over by their creativity, their energy and their enthusiasm. I think that the skaters and the dog owners should be the first to get a facility. They are real Encinitas locals, and they are paying taxes, too. I think that the league players from out of town should wait their turn, since obviously the City overpaid so much for this property, that there is not enough money for everyone!
