CARLSBAD — Carlsbad police and fire responded to a traffic collision in the 800 block of Bluewater Road. Upon arrival officers found an adult male lying in the road with a severe injury to his torso. It appears the driver was the sole occupant of a Waste Management trash truck who had fallen out of his vehicle for un unknown reason. After falling out of his vehicle, the driver was run over by his own vehicle. Carlsbad Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the family notification by the San Diego County Coroner. The collision is under investigation by the traffic division.
