As Lisa has pointed out, Democracy is as much about process as it is about decisions. If we felt that we had an actual voice in the decision making process instead of being dictated too by builder-backed Council members, there would not be the level of rancor and unrest that now exists in our city.

We would like to have Commissioners, City staff, and Council members reflect the people whom live here and whom they represent–not a group of publicly-paid lobbyists for local devlopers and the building industry.

The same thing occured with the planning commission and the arts commission.
The 3-2 majority has no shame in proving, again, that if you are a citizen of Encinitas and do not agree with them, they do not want to hear what you think and will use their power to silence any opposing view.
They have made this very clear.
