I have to agree with the first comment.
Taxpayers from all over Encinitas wanted a community park rather than a regional sports park. Still do.
To label this majority NIMBYS is not accurate at all.
It is Not a community park.

I am confident that a good choice of names will surface.
But it can not be called a ‘community’ park. It is legally defined as a "special use park" in the EIR and defined by the city as a special use park. It would be an insult to the seeming majority that fought an eight year battle to have a Community Park for the entire community……and lost.
It can’t be legal to call this Special Use Park a Community Park. Why is anyone referring this as a naming of a ‘community’ Park.
Looking forward to viewing submissions.
