COAST CITIES — The San Diego North County Senior Olympic Games will be held in nine North County cities during the last two weeks in April and the first two weeks in May.
Encinitas resident and Senior Consultant to The Games will be David Mirisch. The games are open to anyone 50 or older. There will be approximately 20 sports that will be played at venues in the cities of Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, Rancho Santa Fe and Poway.
Registration is a one-time only fee of $25. A person may participate in up to six sports. Each sport has an additional entry fee of $5 per sport except for golf and bowling. Competitors then can enter into The San Diego Senior Olympic Games which will be held throughout San Diego at 26 different venues during the entire month of September.
Winners of the San Diego Games qualify for the California Games and those winners are invited to the National Games. Besides the usual sports, the Games offer competition in ballroom dancing, Pickleball, fitness activities, surfing, miniature golf and table tennis.
