Great white sighting reported in La Jolla

LA JOLLA — Sandiego6.com reports that a small great white shark has been spotted about 500 yards of the coast of La Jolla Cove. The shark was sited by two scuba divers at about 1:30 p.m. Feb. 10, prompting lifeguards to issue a warning to those entering the ocean in the area.
The divers said the shark was approximately 5 feet long and under approximately 30 feet of water according to lifeguard Lt. John Everhart.
The lifeguards do not consider the shark’s presence a threat but still warned beachgoers in the area as a precaution.
