Santee couple’s death ruled murder-suicide

SANTEE — Sandiego6.com reports that the death of the Santee couple whose bodies were found in the charred rubble of their home Jan. 2 was ruled a murder-suicide.
Sixty-year-old Michael Cour and his wife Janice Gervais, 70, each died of a gunshot wound to the head inflicted by Cour.
The couple was losing their home to foreclosure.
Cour had made an emergency call at around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 1 and told a dispatcher that he was going to kill his wife, set their home on fire and then kill himself. Approximately an hour later the home was in flames.
