A host of professional baseball pitchers turned out for Miracle League’s Celebrity Pitcher Day, Nov. 13 at Engel Family Field. Guest pitchers included Heath Bell, Bud Black, Will Venable, John Weisbarth, Tony Gwynn Jr., Brad Ausmus, Mark Sweeney and Mark Loretta. The Miracle League players were able to face the major leaguers, and had a successful day, scoring run after run. Tony Gwynn Jr. gave up 72 runs. Miracle League offers children with disabilities the opportunity to play baseball with a little help from buddies.
