SAN DIEGO — According to sandiego6.com, Shawne Merriman’s career with the San Diego Chargers is likely over.
Placed on injured reserve on Oct. 13 with a calf injury means the six-year veteran linebacker must be released by the team when he becomes healthy.
Merriman has had limited field time so far this season due to an Achilles injury and a recurring calf injury.
