VISTA — San Diego County Crime Stoppers and detectives from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Vista station are asking for assistance from the public in identifying a suspect wanted for a series of burglaries that have occurred in the city of Vista and surrounding areas.
Detectives said that since March 2010 there have been 36 commercial burglaries to small businesses throughout the city of Vista. The suspect(s) are targeting businesses in small strip malls or shopping centers that are along main thoroughfares.
The glass windows or doors of the businesses are broken to gain access. The suspect(s) target cash resister drawers for money that has been left overnight. The break-ins usually occur between midnight and 6 a.m., any day of the week.
Other law enforcement agencies in the North County are also investigating similar break-ins.
The suspect in the video is described as a white or Hispanic male adult, between 20 to 25 years old, weighing about 180 pounds with a goatee. He was wearing a red baseball hat with a white emblem on the front, grey sweatshirt and tan shorts. The suspect was also carrying a backpack.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the identity and or location of the person(s) responsible for this crime to call the SDSD Vista Station at (760) 940-4551 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
