FIGHTING POVERTY

Encinitas Rotary Club President Tom Cozens welcomes Leslie Sagar from Hope W/out Boundaries. The nonprofit organization works to help those in the most desperate of poverty conditions. The Encinitas Rotary Club donated $2,000 to this organization and a special fund for Team Tijuana. The donation allowed Sagar to purchase 1,000 pounds of food for $75 from a local food bank to the most desperately poor in the Tijuana area. Other projects for Hope W/out Boundaries in the Tijuana area include building a school for children who live in a recently closed city dump. The organization has also built a home for disabled men who have no families, a drug rehabilitation center and a home for up to 130 aged, homeless, sick, abandoned and handicapped persons.
