Neither Ms. Scott nor Ms. Bales are associated with the recall and had absolutely nothing to do with any union group or lobbyist group. I do know they stand behind all their research and comments. Calling people liars is unfair and detracts from you, not them.
The 'facts' placed here by "DOUG" are stunningly wrong. All projects in Oceanside have used state and/or federal money. That requires they pay a prevailing wage scale. They found that out in Vista too, to get good workers you have to pay a decent wage. No money was saved.

The opponents of the Charter distort and mislead, but what do you expect from a group who lied about trying to recall Councilmember Kern. Charter opponents want control of the City Council so they can feed at the public trough. Last time they had control of the Council they spiked public employee pensions by 50 percent, and gave away $30 million to their union friendly developer friends. Now Oceanside has the a budget mess and nearly no reserves. Labor unions oppose the Charter because Oceanside residents take back local control of Oceanside from Sacramento politicians the labor unions control. As an example, the Oceanside City Managers projects annual savings of $3 million to $6 million per year for public improvements. The El Corazon Senior Center could have had a kitchen if the City had adopted the Charter, because the cost savings could be used to build more improvements. Instead, the senior center has an empty room. Charter opponents try to claim 10-25 percent savings can't happen even though it is happening in cities all around Oceanside. Vista, Carlsbad and San Marcos all voted yes for a Charter and all of them have local control and significant annual cost savings. The conspiracy theories, lies and distortions can't change the facts in support of voting for the Oceanside City Charter.
