Your tired attitude, is exactly why people like you have been preventing the youth from getting what they deserve... How about you open your mind a bit and think about how your steps/rails/curbs are actually obstructing nature for some sort of profitable cause... A skatepark is not meant to make money, but rather to channel positive energy and keep minds from growing tired like yours.

I would say there is a definite commitment to community support. Our number one goal right now is to garner community support prior to taking our official proposal to city council.

We had over 30 attendees at our meeting tonight and did in fact discuss doing beautification projects in the Village to help repair previous damage.

In addition, the proposal includes an education center where part of the curriculum (to be taught by skateboarding professionals)will be public skating behavior and respect for the community.

Another positive aspect to this project is that it will be a non-profit organization and will not add to the tax burden. We are not asking the City of Carlsbad for money and plan to fund the project through private funding from the skateboarding and business community.

I would hope that anyone who has concerns about community involvement or any aspect of this project attend our VERY public meetings and get involved with the project firsthand.

In addition to the www.cvskatemuseum.blogspot.com you can also find us on Facebook: Carlsbad Skatepark, Museum, and Action Arts Center

In just 1 week we've garnered over 500 fans, a great number of them professional skateborders and industry leaders. This is a multi-generational group.

We are still working on this proposal and do appreciate input from the public, so please know we are looking closely at your comments and considering them as we flesh out the proposal.

Do you want to see community involvement? Then, by all means get involved!

Is there any commitment to community support in this proposal? Any commitment from the skating community to actively work at policing bad skating practices that damage the downtown area?

Is there any commitment to repair previous damage to curbs, rails and steps created by generations of skaters whose general lack of respect for private and public property have previous generated ordinances forbidding skate boarding in our downtown area?

We seem to have a short-term memory issue in our small downtown area and I have not heard Miss Young or any supporters suggesting anything but adding a burden on tax payers without any positive community involvement other than keeping youth skaters off the street.
