Little League opening day is a big hit

RANCHO SANTA RE — Former Major League Baseball player Mark Loretta and members of the Park View Little League World Series Championship team from Chula Vista highlighted Rancho Santa Fe Little League’s 44th annual opening day March 20 at R. Roger Rowe School sports field.
This year’s 28 teams kicked off the event with a parade through the village. Park View Coach Ric Ramirez and team members Luke Ramirez and Isaiah Armenta fielded questions from local players. Loretta, a Rancho Santa Fe resident who retired in October, offered some words of advice and threw out the starting pitches to members of each of the five divisions.
