ENCINITAS —The spoken word will take the spotlight, attracting amateur and professional poets and fans of the freeform Full Moon Poets Winter Poetry Slam at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at La Paloma Theatre, 471 S. Coast Highway 101.
Poets who want to compete must enter between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. at the front door of the theater. Swami Bruce will emcee the free winter event. There is no pre-censorship, so some poetry may be for mature audiences. The 2010 Winter Slam is sponsored in part by 101 Artists’ Colony, Well Within, and a grant from the city Of Encinitas and Mizel Family Foundation Community Grant Program.
