OCEANSIDE — The Boys & Girls Club of Oceanside received federal stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which allowed it the opportunity to create two positions within the organization — marketing coordinator and community outreach coordinator.
Rachel Amparan accepted the position of marketing coordinator, where she leads the brand development strategy and interfaces with media partners to build awareness of club services, programs, and activities. She is responsible for fundraising activities including special events, corporate sponsorships, and the clubʼs annual golf tournament. She has a wide range of national, local and nonprofit experience with well-known brands in a variety of industries.
Jessie Gunn accepted the position of outreach community coordinator. Gunnʼs main focus is to achieve a higher level of awareness for at-risk youth and teen involvement, and explore additional possibilities for outreach program offerings for the club. She will be participating with outreach committees on programs such as the Teens Talk Teens Pregnancy Prevention Video Contest, North County Gang Task Force, the annual Teen Trade Show, and Youth of the Year. Gunn joins the organization from Alaska, with a strong background in event planning, marketing, and corporate philanthropic support.
