The Carlsbad Pop Warner Junior Pee Wee Battling Lancer Cheer team, including, above, Francesca Reyes, CJ McFadden, Liza Naylor, Nikki Valenzuela, Gabby Rubbo, Chloe Ryan, Hope Stewart, Tayah Cluett, Madelyn Waumans, Katie Carr, Bella Smith, Jordan Davies, Tiana Schulze, Isabella Melsh, Gretchen Ferguson, Taylor Linden, Chloe LaJoie and head coach Joan Carr, finished in second place in the Novice Small Division at the WESCON Regional Cheer & Dance competition Nov. 22. The Battling Lancer girls qualified for regional competition by taking first place at the Palomar Conference Championships held Nov. 8 and went on to compete in the 2009 Pop Warner National Championships Dec. 7 through Dec. 11 in Orlando, Fla.
