Eagle Scouts applauded
From left, Oceanside Scout Commissioner D.F. “Mac” McAndrew, and Crew Advisor Eric Gemmell congratulated Eagle Scout Mason Slagh, Oceanside Troop 752, along with District Scout Representative John Hoffman of Santa Margarita Boy Scout District as they announced that four scouts earned the Eagle rank in August. Along with Slagh, the newest Eagle Scouts are Daniel Cueva from Vista Crew 715, Spencer Lane from Carlsbad Crew 732 and Grant Perdue from Carlsbad Crew 716. Slagh’s leadership project was building a tranquility bench for Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve. Lane installed exercise stations at Calavera Hills Middle School in Carlsbad. Cueva built a brick garden planter for Washington Middle School in Vista and Perdue restored an orchard area for the Mormon Church in Carlsbad.
