SOLANA BEACH — North County residents can show community pride by shopping at local merchants Aug. 29 as the Shop Solana Beach First campaign kicks off at the major shopping districts . Solana Beach residents who shop at local Solana Beach merchants could randomly receive a complimentary reusable eco-friendly shopping bag just for buying local. Some of the shopping areas will have sidewalk sales, coupons and entertainment. The Solana Beach Town Center merchants, west of the 5 on Lomas Santa Fe, will celebrate from 10 a.m. to noon, Lomas Santa Fe Plaza merchants will celebrate from 11 a.m. to noon, Cedros Design District merchants will participate from noon to 2 p.m. and Coast Highway 101 merchants from 2 to 4 p.m. Residents may also visit the Chamber of Commerce office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pick up a shopping bag.
