COAST CITIES — Applications are now being accepted for the 2009 Scholarship Pageant for the Miss Fil-Am and Miss Teen Fil-Am Pageant on Aug. 8. The pageants, for young women of Filipino American heritage, are sponsored by the Fil-Am Cultural Association of North San Diego County. Miss Teen Fil-Am will be open to single girls, ages 13 to 16. Miss Fil-Am is open to single girls ages 17 to 24.
The pageant will be judged on personality, poise, impromptu question, talent and overall look. The winners for Miss Fil-Am and Miss Teen Fil-Am will receive cash scholarships, as well as other prizes. The winners become ambassadors for the Fil-Am Cultural
Association of North County, and appear at various charity events and North County functions.
