Students in Mrs. Cain’s second grade class at Faith Lutheran School in Vista were in for a surprise recently when they were transported back to 1865. Julie May from Heritage Tours in San Diego portrayed Mrs. Walker, a teacher that had moved to San Diego from San Francisco in 1865. Students dressed in traditional clothing from the era, and authentic props were incorporated into the lesson that included what school was like in 1865.
