Pianist highlights La Jolla Music Society season

LA JOLLA — La Jolla Music Society continues this season’s Frieman Family Piano Series with British pianist Imogen Cooper at 8 p.m. March 27 at the Marine Corps Air Station Sherwood Auditorium.
Cooper will be performing Bach’s “Partita No. 2 in C Minor,” Schoenburg’s “Six Little Pieces, Op. 19” and Schubert’s “Moments musicaux, D. 780” and “Sonata in G Major, D. 894” on La Jolla Music Society’s “The Belanich Steinway.”
La Jolla Music Society enhances the concert-going experience by presenting “Preludes” — pre-concert chats and performances — prior to each performance, free to ticket-holders. Senior Lecturer of Keyboard Studies and Conducting at University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, Lucinda Carver hosts a pre-concert talk at 7 pm.
Tickets are $25 to $75 and are available through the La Jolla Music Society box office, (858) 459-3728 and online at www.LaJollaMusicSociety.org.
