Students volunteer with cleanup efforts

SAN MARCOS — Twelve Mission Hills High School students are scheduled to volunteer in Houston, Texas, and Galveston, Texas, April 11 through April 16. The students, along with two faculty advisors, will help clean up the wreckage from last year’s disastrous hurricane season. They will be serving under the United Methodist Committee on Relief and are currently accepting donations to help lessen the cost of their trip and to make a donation to the Hurricane Ike Recovery Fund. Call Christine LaPorte, Hurricane Ike Disaster Relief Team advisor, at (760) 290-2700, ext. 3850 for details.
