Teen mentoring program debuts in North County
NORTH COUNTY — A new opportunity for adult volunteers to mentor foster teens has come to North County. Legacy Corps, a multigenerational program, has been connecting caring adults and foster teens in San Diego for four years, and now offers the program in North County.
Adult volunteers and teens receive training together starting Jan. 10, followed by serving the local community together. The Legacy Corps teams assist families caring for loved ones a few hours a week, providing a break for family caregivers. The experience can make a lifetime of difference for the adult and the teen. Volunteers also receive $200 per month beginning with the training in January.
