I feel that we should have spent some of the $300,000 plus that is going to Peltz and Associates for holding these "workshops" on actual plantings to restore some of the trees that have already been removed.

I don't think the plan is good, and I feel the surveys collected will demonstrate that most people are NOT in favor of five roundabouts and are not in favor of only one lane on a main highway going northbound. The resulting traffic congestion, and the consultants did admit that traffic would be significantly slowed, would result in more people using Neptune, which runs northbound, and Vulcan as alternatives to North Hwy 101.

We could slow people down by simply reducing the speed limit, putting in a couple more stop signs, and a couple of u-turn lanes. The walkability is already much improved with the new sidewalks.

The majority of citizens attending the workshops do not buy that this would be traffic "calming." How calm are people when they are sitting in a bottleneck caused by five roundabouts in a little over two miles of highway!

Most residents, commuters, and local businesses are NOT in favor of this as will be shown by the hundreds of signatures on the petitions at Leucadia Glass and Sub Palace.

The plan is to make it so good, that people will drive alittle slower, people will get out and walk and bike, and everyone will enjoy the coastal cooridor that much more. The speeders are killing this town. The traffic calming is necessary.
